Harmony Mills
The Harmony Mills are comprised of three buildings that make up an 850,000 sq. ft. complex that sets right along the Mohawk River with a beautiful view of the Hudson Falls. At the time of its operation in 1872, the mills were the largest cotton mill complex in the world. The projected goal of this renovation is to create a community of high-end residential lofts, much like those seen in the SoHo/TriBeCa area in New York City.
After the completion of the first phase in 2007, the 96 units quickly gained 100% occupancy. On February 5, 2010, Harmony Mills owners Uri Kaufman and Ira Schwartz, as well as the Harmony Group celebrated the commencement of Phase II in an official groundbreaking ceremony. This phase will add 135 units to the existing 96, as well as an indoor swimming pool. Completion of this project is expected to be around Christmas 2010.
